Our Philosophy: Experienced, Personalized, and Compassionate Care

MEET DR. SAUER, Sr.

Dr. Sauer is a trained and experienced Board Certified Hand and Plastic Surgeon with over 20 years of conscientious, compassionate care for thousands of patients. He has completed multiple certifications and recertifications in General, Plastic, and Hand Surgery. Emergent and elective Hand Surgery has become a central focus of his practice although Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the body is still an integral part.

As a patient, you are given personalized care that only a solo practice can deliver. Dr. Sauer is an independent practitioner, not a hospital owned practice so there will not be hospital facility fees for an office x-ray or in-office procedure.

You will see Dr. Sauer for all your care. He feels strongly that he is responsible for all your care and recognizes the trust you have placed in him. If you need surgery, your surgery will be performed solely by Dr. Sauer and you will see Dr. Sauer at every clinic visit. There are no physician extenders in his practice, such as Fellows, Nurse Practitioners or PAs.

WHY A PLASTIC-HAND SURGEON IS A LITTLE DIFFERENT

Dr. Sauer is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes in Hand Surgery and is able to offer a unique expertise as a result of the years of Plastic and Reconstructive training he completed prior to his specialized Hand Surgery training. All Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons are fully trained in microsurgery, soft tissue reconstructions, difficult wounds, flap reconstructions, and limb salvage, prior to any additional specialized training. The hand is a delicate structure and Plastic-Hand Surgeons are specialists devoted to this delicate structure in the human body made up of small bones, nerves, tendons, arteries, and ligaments. Dr. Sauer limits his expertise to the hand and elbow. He does not treat fractures of the wrist or arm.

Dr. Sauer is a Board Certified Hand Surgeon. All Board Certified Hand Surgeons must pass a rigorous Board Exam to earn the Certificate in Surgery of the Hand, which demonstrates their proficiency.

When you come to see Dr. Sauer, you will always be seen and treated by him and not a Fellow, a Medical Student, Nurse Practitioner, or PA. Dr. Sauer recognizes the trust you have placed in him, so your care is his focus.
